about me

Liz

Social Worker/Therapist

With 15 years of experience as a social worker and therapist, I’ve had the opportunity to work across various fields and clinical specialties, including adolescent and adult mental health, chronic illness and disease, acquired brain injury and rehabilitation, palliative care, community health and clinical hospital settings, and disability support. My approach blends therapy and coaching, utilizing mindfulness and cognitive behavioural techniques to empower individuals in their journey toward self-discovery, self-awareness, and emotional regulation. I focus on a person-centred, strengths-based methodology that is non-judgmental, fostering your self-worth and well-being, and helping you to achieve self-realization and build confidence in yourself!

My Approach

I use a combination of evidence-based therapies, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Value-Based Therapy approaches. These therapies help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, cultivate emotional resilience, and help you build meaningful connections with others. And the main emphasis is certainly on how YOU can take a hold, and manage anxiety, stress and overwhelm, rather than it feeling like it’s controlling you! I’m a curious therapist, who invites you to answer self-exploratory questions, that opens your mind into broader perspectives, that engages you to think outside of the existing anxiety, stress, worry experience, to observe yourself, detached from of the emotional, physical and psychological experience. Observing ourselves in the patterns of our emotional experience, is the first step in owning yourself again, and realise that emotions are just an experience, they are not who you are!
